STOP PRESS: COWES PORT HANDBOOK 2015-2016 OUT NOW!

New Port Handbook in production. 
The Cowes Port Handbook is the Harbour Commission’s official guide to Cowes and East Cowes and is produced on our behalf by publishing partners Solent Communications. Production for the 2015 edition is in full swing and we are delighted to report that this year advertising costs have been reduced to encourage more local businesses to get involved. In addition, Solent Communications has been working with Cowes Business Association to develop more editorial to promote fashion, shopping and eating out in the town.

Strategic Review feedback on Port Handbook.
In CHC’s Strategic Review online survey last autumn, we asked how stakeholders rate our communications with harbour users and stakeholders, which includes the annual Port Handbook. We were very pleased to see that over 80% of respondents gave favourable comments and stated the Handbook was deemed to be good, very good or excellent.

The Port Handbook is one example of how CHC works proactively to promote Cowes through investment in stakeholder benefits, providing long-term benefits to the harbour and its broad and diverse range of stakeholders.

Other stakeholder investments and projects funded by CHC’s accumulated financial surplus, which do not provide a commercial return, include the new Cowes breakwater, Trinity Landing, the sailing school training pontoon, support and sponsorship to attract new yachting events to Cowes, and harbour safety management for the Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week fireworks display.
