Rob Kitcher runs Islandwide Marine, one of the onsite
business at our Kingston Boatyard in East Cowes.  From his
35 years’ experience of both inboard and outboard engines, he offers mobile
engineering services from basic servicing to full engine rebuilds and refits.

“No job is too small,” says Rob. “After working for my family
based marine engineering company for 21 years, my father sold up and retired.  I then decided it was time to branch out alone
and noticed there was a need for a mobile marine engineer with a 24hr call out
service.”

“The benefits of being mobile means you do not need to move your
boat.  Whether it be on your driveway or on its mooring, we are fully equipped
to come to you.  We also have a workshop so we can carry out the more
technical jobs of stripping and rebuilding engines.”

“I have a background of running an engineering department of the
family-based company and being a chief mechanic for the class 2 race boat
‘Spirit of J & B’ and class 3B boat ‘Fibre Tiger’”

Islandwide Marine are dealers and service agents for Bukh, Sole
diesels, Tohatsu outboards and a Beta engine installer. The company is Sea
Start approved and works closely with marinas across the Island.
