The new crane at Shepards Wharf Marina has now been commissioned and the Shepards dry sailing team are fully trained and certified. 

This electric, hydraulic crane has an impressive lift capability and is capable of launching boats up to 6 tonnes. It is remote control operated, and also has a man-riding capability of 500kg with a reach of 15 metres above the ground, meaning that people can be hoisted to attend to masts and rigging. 

Jock Rafferty, Marina and Moorings Manager, said: “I am very pleased with our new crane, which is a major investment by CHC into our marina facilities and offers us much improved operating procedures. The crane will allow us to lift more boats, more efficiently; it is a lot quieter and cleaner, and more compact, all of which will benefit our dry sailing and marina customers.”
