Cruise news from Cowes

Boutique destination and gem of the UK South Coast, Cowes on the Isle of Wight, has welcomed two more cruise ships this month, the Europa, and Seabourn Quest. Cowes Harbour Commission held a traditional plaque exchange onboard Seabourn Quest to welcome the ship, Captain Joost Eldering and all the passengers and crew on their inaugural visit to Cowes.

Cruise visitors disembarked at Trinity Landing, next to Henry VIII’s Cowes Castle, home to the prestigious Royal Yacht Squadron and in the heart of Cowes. Passengers enjoyed unique destination experiences including a “royalty, yacht racing and rigging” walking tour of Cowes, an exhilarating RIB ride to The Needles, a bicycle exploration of Victorian history in Cowes and East Cowes, a lecture tour at Osborne House, visit to Ventnor Botanic Gardens, Carisbrooke Castle, golf at Freshwater, an expert tour at Mottistone Gardens, a chauffeur-driven panoramic tour in vintage cars, and other bespoke trips on the Island that’s known as “England in miniature”.

For cruise operators with small to medium-sized cruise ships who are looking for a new destination, Cowes offers an economical port-of-call with an enhanced range of authentic and exclusive excursions for discerning travellers. All enquiries about cruise calls to Cowes should be directed to the Cowes Harbour Master: T. +44 (0)1983 293952 or E. chc@cowes.co.uk
