Cowes RNLI Yellow Welly Day

Cowes RNLI’s “Yellow Welly Day” is coming soon! On Monday, 4th May 2015 Cowes Lifeboat Station will be holding a fundraising Yellow Welly Day as part of a national RNLI initiative called “Mayday!”

The Station will be open from 1000 to 1600 and as well as having the opportunity to look around you can meet representatives of the local fire brigade and ambulance, the Coastguard, and the marine police will have their catamaran tied up on Trinity Landing.

Mark Southwell, Operations Manager for Cowes RNLI said: “Everyone is invited to come down to the Station and join in with our fun Yellow Welly Day. We will be offering guided tours of the lifeboat station and visitors can meet crews from some of the other organisations involved in search and rescue operations – as long as they are not actually on service of course!”

Inside the Station an area will be set up especially with children in mind. Also on display will be a rope-making machine with crew members on hand to teach you to tie some useful knots. Games involving wellies (some of them yellow) will challenge all ages and at 1400 there will be the judging of the two competitions.
