The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) recently announced that a consultation would take place on the Draft South Marine Plan; this is now underway and will close on 27th January 2017. 

The South Marine Plan covers the inshore and offshore waters from MHWS to 12nm between Folkestone and the River Dart. The Plan aims to enable sustainable growth across the region, whilst respecting local communities and protecting the marine environment. It sets out policies to help deliver the high-level marine objectives as set out in the Marine Policy Statement.
