Disposing of Unwanted Marine Flares

Notice is hereby given that from 31st December 2022, HM Coastguard will no longer be offering a voluntary, public-facing flare disposal service to private individuals who have personal flares to dispose of. From that date, private individuals will need to use a third-party disposal service to dispose of their personal flares.

Information regarding registered disposal service providers can be found at The Green Blue website, which is hosted jointly between the RYA and British Marine.

None of the CHC sites currently accept flares for disposal, therefore please do not leave any flares at the sites.

This local notice to mariners will remain in force until further notice.
